Kenyan gas explosion
A gas explosion occurred in Nairobi, Kenya on February 2, 2024, killing at least three people and injuring more than 280 others.
The explosion took place in the Embakasi neighborhood, near an illegal gas depot. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but it is believed to have been caused by a leak from one of the gas cylinders.

A lorry carrying gas cylinders exploded in Embakasi district at about 23:30 (20:30 GMT) on Thursday, “igniting a huge ball of fire”, an official said. Housing, businesses and cars were damaged, with video showing a huge blaze raging close to blocks of flats.
