A second teacher at St. Clair High School in Missouri, Megan Gaither, has been suspended for maintaining an OnlyFans account. The 31-year-old English teacher and varsity cheerleading coach set up the account in May to help pay off over $125,000 in student loans. Gaither, earning approximately $47,500 annually, highlighted the financial challenges of teaching.
Facing financial struggles, Gaither revealed making $3,000 to $5,000 monthly on OnlyFans while keeping her identity concealed. The suspension followed a similar case involving Brianna Coppage, another teacher at St. Clair High School, who was placed on leave in September for her OnlyFans account.
Gaither deactivated her account, with 1,500 subscribers, after Coppage’s suspension. The two teachers, unaware of each other’s involvement on OnlyFans until June, have since become close friends. Gaither’s suspension occurred when students discovered her presence in a video on Coppage’s account, even though her face was not visible.
Despite positive reviews from school officials, Gaither, placed on leave for “professionalism and student communication,” expressed love for her students but acknowledged the likely end of her career at St. Clair. Considering relocation, she contemplates reactivating her OnlyFans account to support her family.
Gaither believes other Missouri teachers might turn to OnlyFans for additional income, expressing concern for educators given the recent incidents. The school district’s superintendent, Kyle Kruse, provided no statement, leaving Gaither’s future uncertain.
In the broader context, the incidents shed light on the financial struggles of U.S. teachers, who earn a median annual salary of just over $61,000, about 20% less than other college-educated workers with similar experience, according to the Economic Policy Institute.
